Adare Golf Club is a world class championship course which stretches
over 230 acres of the Adare Manor estate. This magnificent layout was
designed by the world's most famous golf course architect, Robert Trent
Jones, Snr, and as Charlie Mulqueen puts it "One can't help believing
that Adare will be seen as a monument to the expertise and vision of the
Trent Jones".
The supreme challenge of the golf holes and the ambiance of this magnificent
estate combine to create a wonderful golfing experience. A 14 acre lake
dominates the front nine holes. This is seen at the spectacular par five
7th where the fairway curves tantalisingly around the edge of the lake
from tee to green. With the famous Trent Jones jigsaw - shaped bunkers
and magnificently contoured greens, every hole is a worthy challenge.
On the back nine skillful use has been made of River Maigue as it meanders
its way through the heart of the estate. This is particularly evidenced
at the dramatic 18th which Trent Jones regards as the best finishing Par
5 in the world.

Adare is the masterpiece of Robert Trent Jones Snr.
The front nine is dominated by a lake, the back nine by the river Maigue.

The greens are excellent, mostly quite difficult. Favourite holes are
the 7th and the 18th, both par 5's, but all 18 really do challenge you.
When you get to the 18th, ask yourself; the best finishing par 5 in the
world?
Bunkers are numerous and well placed.
It's hard to find any criticism at all of this course, it's just a great
championship course.
