The Annesley Links Golf Club, Co. Down in Ireland

The Championship Links at Newcastle needs no introduction but the Annesley
Links which is 18 holes and a par 66 was reconstructed by Donald Steel
in 1994 and is now a 'little gem' as an alternative to the Championship
Links for those golfers seeking a less demanding challenge. It offers
an extremely characterful game played against the same, incomparable backcloth
as the main course.
The course begins quite benignly before charging headlong into the dunes.
Several charming, and one or two teasing, holes have been carved out amid
the gorse, heather and bracken. Occasionally there is splendid isolation;
at other times, glorious panoramic views of the sea, the bay and the mountains.
