Ardee Golf Club, Co. Louth in Ireland

Founded in 1911, the course originally consisted of only nine holes.
The new 18 holes were opened in 1985 by Christy O'Connor Senior. Ardee
now provides a very fair test of golf on a mature parkland site.
The long par four 6th with its tunnel-like fairway bordered on both sides
by majestic old trees and a well-bunkered green is probably the most demanding
two-shotter of the round. Ardee is obviously trying to establish itself
as one of the best inland courses in the country and under the guidance
of Declan Brannigan, five excellent new holes have been introduced. These
new holes include a 'classic watery duel' at what will be the new 13th
- a par 3 with a 190 yard carry across a lake.
Ardee is always well-manicured and is renowned for the quality of its
putting surfaces.
