Arklow Golf Club, Co. Wicklow in Ireland

The Arklow links offers terrific golf on low-lying dunes sandwiched between
the town and the Irish Sea. This is traditional links golf of a sporty
nature and it demands all the shot making skills to make a score. Magnificent
natural features include sandwarrens, bold natural plateaux and rough
hollows. These imposing hazards require maximum concentration from the
golfer. The recently redesigned 7th hole has been well received by members
and guests.

Last year I played Arklow for the first time in many years.I was very
impressed with the improvements in the general design of the links and
the quality of the greens and fairways. A very enjoyable course to play
as well as a great challenge.

If you want to be seriously challenged on the golf course, play Arklow
in Co. Wicklow. If like me you think only links courses are true tests
of the golfer, then this is for you. I really like what they’ve done with
the par three seventh. The course generally is in very good shape. But
as I said, it’s punishing and you’ll need to be on your game to score.
