Bingley St. Ives Golf Club, West Yorkshire in England
Bingley St. Ives Golf Club was formed in 1931 with Dr. Alistair Mackenziebeing involved in the early layout.
The course is unusual in that it is a single loop, taking the golfer
from parkland to woodland to moorland and back again, with stunning views
of the Aire Valley. During the 1980's it was the venue for the Lawrence
Batley International, a major PGA Tour event won twice by Sandy Lyle and
Nick Faldo with other notable competitors including Lon Hinkle, Lee Trevino,
Fuzzy Zeoller and Arnold Palmer. A new clubhouse was completed in 1994,
and opened by 1999 Ryder Cup Captain Mark James, its design reflecting
the character of the St. Ives Estate, historic home of the Ferrand family.
Situated near to Worth Valley, the magnificent Bronte moorlands and Haworth
and Skipton, the gateway to the Dales, the marvellous surroundings will
ensure a memorable day's golf.
