Bowood Golf & Country Club, Wiltshire in England

Within the 200 acres of Lancelot 'Capability' Brown's beautiful, rolling
Great Park lies Bowood Golf and Country Club. In this majestic setting
the internationally renowned architect, Dave Thomas, has created a championship
course which weaves through and around the Park's mature woodland. It
was a fundamental part of his brief to design a course which could be
enjoyed by the occasional golfer and still challenge the experienced professional
and that is precisely what he has achieved.
Two years after it was opened it was voted one of the top ten new courses
in Britain by Golf World Magazine and a year later the same publication
included the course in the top 50 golf destinations in Europe.
The off-course facilities at Bowood are also superb. They include a golf
academy with floodlit driving range, a lovingly converted 18th Century
Farmhouse as the Clubhouse and between the seventh and eighth fairways
sits Queenwood Golf Lodge, a Georgian Manor House, providing luxurious
accommodation for up to 8 guests. The atmosphere at Bowood is friendly
and easy-going, making it the perfect place to enjoy golf in beautiful
surroundings.
