Cairndhu Golf Club, Co. Antrim in Ireland

This fine parkland course designed by JFS Morrison, a partner in the
firm of Colt, Allison and Morrison, was chosen for its unique location
situated in over 200 acres of mature woodlands and rolling hills. It is
arguably the most scenic course in Ireland, with unsurpassed views of
the Sallagh Braes, the Scottish coastline and islands, and headlands leading
to the renowned Glens of Antrim.
The second hole, a 146 metre par 3 is 300 feet above sea level and can
be anything from gentle nine iron to a three wood, depending on the winds.
The third hole has a carry of 160 metres to reach the narrow fairway and
green below, guarded by bunkers to the left and a chasm on the right hand
side. Moving on to the longer second nine, the tenth is the start of Cairndhu's
"Amen Corner". This 375 metre par 4 is reckoned by many professionals
to be one of the best driving holes in Ireland. The eleventh, a 197 metre
par 3 protected by two bunkers, requires everything a golfer carries in
his bag to reach the green! The twelfth, a 409 metre par 4, is a tight
driving hole with a long second shot to a well-protected green, making
this hole a fine test of golf.
