Caldy Golf Club, Merseyside in England

Straddling the Wirral Way, the old railway line between West Kirby and
Hooton and now a country park, the Golf Course at Caldy offers a unique
blend of seaside and parkland golf in a delightfully picturesque setting.
Members and visitors alike cannot fail to admire the constantly changing
scene overlooking the river Dee Estuary to the hills and mountains of
North Wales which contrasts with the rural outlook towards the village
of Thurstaston, with the hill to the east and the farmland and dales to
the south.
An attractive feature of the course is the variation of the holes, all
different, and made all the more so depending on the wind. Stroke index
1 on the Gentlemen's card is the sixth, a challenging par four called
'The Donga'. Named after a South African watercourse it refers to the
grass depression which runs across the front of the green. A course which
has hosted many Amateur and Professional events, Caldy has the added attraction
in that if one's golf is not at its best, there is always plenty of pleasant
scenery to enjoy.
