Carmarthen Golf Club, Carmarthenshire in England

Carmarthen moved to its present location at Rhydymarchog in 1929 and
was designed by J.H. Taylor.
Set on the slopes of the Gwili Valley amid some of the choicest Welsh
countryside, Carmarthen is a much stiffer test than its yardage suggests.
The greens with their subtle borrows and breaks are seldom mastered. The
first hole, a long uphill par 4 with out of bounds on the right presents
a daunting start and sets the standard for this heathland course, which
is rarely mastered by first-time visitors. The dog-leg 17th, with its
two tiered green awaits for those who think they have. The par 71 and
course record 68 stand testament to the tricky nature of the course.
The stunning view from the clubhouse of the surrounding countryside being
reward for all those who try.
