Carne Golf Course, Co. Mayo in Ireland

The towering sand dunes of the Atlantic coast of Mayo are the unique
setting for this new Championship Links Course. Designed by Eddie Hackett,
Carne (Belmullet) was featured in the Top Ten of new Developments in the
UK and Ireland by Golf World in November 1994. The ubiquitous Atlantic
wind makes the second nine a real challenge with the 11th, 14th and 17th
holes in particular, exacting in their demands for precision and skill
- a linksland gem, despite geographical isolation, well worthy of a visit.
