Chorley Golf Club, Lancashire in England

Chorley opened in 1898 as a nine hole course, before eventually extending
to eighteen in June 1926. The newly extended layout would have opened
earlier but for the general Strike!
It is a splendid moorland course with good sized well bunkered greens.
Being situated on a hill there are many excellent views of the Lancashire
coastline and on a clear day one can see the hills of the Lake District.
The layout of the course is in two loops with the usual proximity of the
ninth green and tenth tee close to the clubhouse. Development work has
continued throughout the years to both course and clubhouse and it is
without doubt one of the most pleasing courses in Central Lancashire.
Several holes offer a considerable challenge but the 3rd, a par 3, is
well documented with its menacing out-of-bounds on the right.
