Cochrane Golf Course, Strathclyde in Scotland

This attractive par 71 (SSS 71) course, designed by Charles Hunter and
opened in 1895 is only 15 minutes from Glasgow airport. It is a fairly
hilly parkland course with trees lining most of the holes and it offers
impressive views to the north. Accurate driving is essential to avoid
the numerous burns which intersect the course.
The club has a proud reputation of producing a number of top class golfers;
three members having represented Great Britain and Ireland in the Walker
Cup and a lady internationalist. The first hole of 166 yards to a green
cut out of a sloping bank offers an intimidating start to the round and
a par 3 is considered a bonus. The course offers a fair challenge, the
most demanding hole being the par 4 third with a long carry over a burn
to a two tier green with out of bounds close to the left of the green.

The clubhouse provides a friendly atmosphere with first class catering
available.
