Lenzie Golf Club, Strathclyde in Scotland
Lenzie Golf Club was founded in 1889 and following several extensionsthe course now has a playing length of 5984 yards with a standard scratch
of 69. The course is parkland and prominent features include the old beech
trees that line some of the fairways together with thorn hedges and shallow
ditches. Extensive larch and fir plantations have also been created. The
course is relatively flat apart from a steep hill to the green at the
5th hole.
From this vantage point there is a fine view of the surrounding countryside
with the Campsie Hills to the north and beyond to Ben Lomond in the distance.
A substantial practice area is situated to the west of the 18th fairway
beside a small loch. The clubhouse was completely refurbished in 1996.
There are two dining rooms and catering facilities ranging from bar snacks
to à la carte dinners are available.
