Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club, Grampian in Scotland
Small but perfectly formed! At only 4,794 yards, par 65 StrathpefferSpa would appear to be a bit of a pushover - it is anything but : in its
history no-one, professional or amateur has ever managed to break the
magical 60. Laid out as a 9-hole course in 1888, during the heyday of
the Victorian spa's popularity, it proved to be a perfect complement to
the restorative powers of the spa waters.
The course is set above the village in picturesque Strath Ulladale and
the invigorating Highland air is more than enough compensation if the
golf is indifferent. Golfers can enjoy phenomenal panoramic views of mountain
and moorland, from the upper reaches of The Cromarty Firth to the mountainous
region in the west.
The inviting prospect of the hospitality in the clubhouse provides the
perfect finale to a round at this wonderful retreat.
