Thornhill Golf Club, Strathclyde in Scotland

Thornhill Golf Club is set amidst the beautiful Southern Uplands and
the 18 hole course is a mixture of heathland and parkland, with panoramic
views the equal of any in Scotland. It has often been described as a 'hidden
jewel'. The club itself was founded in 1893 and in 1979 the course was
extended to 18 holes.
At 6085 yards, it is easy on the high handicapper, with a par 71 and
a SSS of 70, but the course also offers a real challenge to the scratch
man. More than that, its worth walking for the scenery alone. Andrew Coltart,
a member of Scotland's Alfred Dunhill Cup winning side in 1995 has been
a member here all his life and is now an Honorary Life Member of the club.

The fully licensed clubhouse offers snacks as well as excellent quality
meals throughout the day.
