Turriff Golf Club, Grampian in Scotland
Founded in 1896 the club is one of the gems of North East golf. Lyingalongside the River Deveron with the attractive backdrop of Forglenwoods
across the river Turriff is laid out in a sheltered valley with lush fairways
and excellent greens.
The key to good scoring here is the avoidance of the trees which line
the fairways and the successful negotiation of some tough holes. At 529
yards, the long 12th, is a case in point and the splendid variety of holes
has produced some excellent golfers - the club were winners of the 1998
Scottish Club Championship. The clubhouse is comfortable and spacious
and the professional can be relied upon for sound advice before or after
a game.
